A great fit if…

  • You want a quiet, gentle indoor pet
  • You can rabbit-proof a room or two
  • You're happy with affection on the rabbit's terms

Think twice if…

  • You want a pet to pick up and cuddle (most rabbits dislike being held)
  • Chewed cables and baseboards would be a problem

Care basics

  • Unlimited hay, which should be most of their diet
  • A large pen or a free-roam room
  • Usually happiest in a bonded pair
  • Litter training (most rabbits learn quickly)
  • A rabbit-savvy vet for spay/neuter and dental checks

Fun fact: Rabbits' teeth never stop growing, which is why they need to munch hay all day.
