Tailtype is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. There are no accounts, no advertising trackers, and no tracking cookies.
What we process and why
Quiz answers and results
Your quiz answers are processed in your own browser. Your result (pet type, scores, and the pet name you entered) is stored in the result page’s address and in your browser’s local storage so you can come back to it. We don’t store your answers on our servers.
Report purchases
When you buy a Report, your result (pet type, scores, pet name) is sent to our server and to our payment provider so the correct Report can be created. Payment is handled by Creem, our merchant of record, which collects your name, email, billing details, and payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive order details such as your order number, email address, and the product purchased, which we use to deliver the Report, provide support, process refunds, and meet legal and tax obligations.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first service that doesn’t use cookies or track you across sites. It gives us aggregate statistics such as page views and referring sites.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
Emails
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and help you.
Fonts and third parties
Our fonts are hosted on our own site, so loading a page doesn’t send your data to font services. We don’t sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Retention
Order records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Support emails are kept for up to two years. You can clear the locally stored results at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to its processing. Email hello@tailtype.com and we’ll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Tailtype is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. Purchases require a parent or guardian.
