Care basics
- At least 5 gallons (about 20 liters), heated and filtered
- Water around 78–80°F (25–27°C)
- Male bettas must live without other bettas
- Weekly partial water changes
- Quality betta pellets, without overfeeding
Fun fact: Bettas can breathe air from the surface using a special organ called the labyrinth organ.
